Home sweet home – a look at our brand new office space in Prague

We kicked off last year with a $45 million Series B and a clear goal: To further improve Productboard and expand our team in both San Francisco and Prague. Having already outgrown our Prague office in Karlín, we recently moved to a shiny new office space at the up-and-coming Libeň docks, where we have taken over more than 3000 square meters of the DOCK IN THREE development.

Our new home has space for up to 178 people, giving us plenty of room to grow while catering to all our needs as an international company.

“Our new home has space for up to 178 people, giving us plenty of room to grow while catering to all our needs as an international company. “Because we’re partially located in San Francisco, we need lots of meeting rooms, private spaces for calls, as well as spaces where colleagues suffering from jetlag can take a snooze. We’re delighted that with the help of YUAR Architects, we’ve been able to build a space that perfectly meets our needs while reflecting our unique company culture.”

Productboard co-founder & CTO.

The new office features ergonomic workspaces complete with adjustable standing desks, a total of 14 different types of meeting rooms, and spaces designed for relaxation. We’ve even built a special exercise space complete with climbing walls!

There are 260 additional areas in a divided open space that people can use as they choose. We have quiet spaces for when we need to concentrate, phone booths for peaceful calls, and even a dedicated podcast studio. In the middle of the space is a central “square” measuring 450 square meters, where we will hold and host different events.

Somewhat ironically, our new Prague offices were completed during a year when we’ve been forced to adopt a work-from-home model due to the coronavirus pandemic. So, for now, only a handful of people are currently coming to the offices each day, with everyone following strict hygiene and social distancing guidelines.

“The current situation makes working from home and building distributed teams more necessary and appealing. We definitely support that here. It’s possible to remotely connect to all meetings without having to travel to the offices, which is something our company culture was fully adapted to before the pandemic.”

Finally, to meet our future needs as a rapidly growing startup, we have also rented two additional floors of the building, which we are currently renting out to other companies. When the time comes, we’ll expand our office to include this additional space.

“We’re preparing for global growth, and we’re counting on the fact that in a few years, we could be up to four times as big as we are now. All together, we’ve rented 4,350 square meters of space, so we’re fully prepared for more colleagues to join us.”
