Investing in product management pays off

Productboard recently commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a new study, The Business Impact Of Investing In Product Management, that provides a deep analysis of the relationship between greater product investment and performance – a crucial investment in an increasingly uncertain macro environment.

The full study, available here, includes key recommendations on making product bets with greater impact. Here’s some of that breakdown, by the numbers.

Advanced practices equal Stronger performance

Allocating resources to product management to build better outcomes is more important than ever before, according to more than 500 surveyed product strategy and product management tool/solution decision-makers, as part of a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Productboard.

The study found that organizations with advanced product management practices are more likely to exceed business-critical goals:

  • 103% more likely to effectively evolve the product portfolio
  • 52% more likely to increase customer retention
  • 36% more likely to achieve revenue growth

It’s also almost twice as likely that high performing product organizations are using a dedicated product management platform, vs. other organizations.
