🎙 Talk 1 – productboard: Vojtech Vondra – Growing the next generation of engineering leadership in your company

🕺🏻 Vojtech’s bio
Vojtech joined productboard as Director of Engineering leading product development and infrastructure. He has spent recent years in hyper-growth startups like Delivery Hero scaling up tech teams and managing them both in their early days and in the post-IPO times. Though a software engineer at heart, he quickly learned to appreciate the critical impact an empowering engineering manager can have within a tech team.

✍️ Abstract:
One very effective way of growing as a manager is to constantly try to make yourself redundant. To do this, you need to nurture and support the next generation of tech managers to take over your responsibilities and drive the company forward.
We will go through the main responsibilities of a great engineering leader and how you can mentor your team to be prepared to grow into your former job.

Rija is an accomplished technology leader who has led teams across London, Silicon Valley and Toronto with extensive experience in fintech. Most recently she was at MarketInvoice as their CTO heading up engineering, product, data and design. Prior to that, she was Senior Director of Engineering at Wealthfront leading their core business area including the company’s pivot from investment management into the financial advisory space.

💃🏻 Rahma’s bio
Rahma is the Director of Engineering for the Restaurants group at Deliveroo. She focusses on helping Deliveroo becoming the best partner for its restaurants and driving growth and profitability for restaurants. Prior to this, Rahma was a senior engineering leader at Wealthfront where she led the financial services area.

🚀Daniel’s bio
Daniel Hejl is a co-founder and the CTO at ProductBoard – a product management platform that helps discover and prioritize features people really want. Prior to that, Daniel worked at Silicon Valley startups as well as Czech corporations, including Česká spořitelna, where he led the development of an award-winning enterprise social network.
