Capture customer feedback from where it's being discussed

Push Slack messages to Productboard as customer feedback. See previews of Productboard links in Slack.

Overview

The Slack integration routes what customers and teammates say in Slack into Productboard. Push any message to the Insights board as a piece of feedback, and paste Productboard links that unfurl with the item's details. Admins connect one Slack workspace per Productboard workspace.

To query Slack channels and send messages using natural language Spark prompts, see the Slack MCP integration.

Push messages to Productboard

Hover over any Slack message or threaded reply and select Push to Productboard. The message becomes a piece of feedback on the Insights board with its original timestamp, assigned to the person who pushed it, and this works across public channels, private channels, group chats, and shared channels. Images aren't pushed. A placeholder links back to the original in Slack.

Add context as you push

While pushing a message, link it to an existing feature, set an importance level, add tags, assign a feedback owner, and attach a comment. You can also correct the "Said by" attribution so the feedback counts toward the right customer.

Preview Productboard links in Slack

Pasted Productboard URLs unfurl to show the item's name and key details, respecting Productboard permissions. A separate, lightweight Slack notifications integration can also post new products, components, features, and subfeatures to a channel as they're created.

Setup

You'll need a Productboard admin role and permission to install apps in your Slack workspace.

  1. In Productboard, go to Settings → Integrations → Slack.
  2. Click Add integration, then Set up integration.
  3. Authorize via OAuth in the Slack window that appears.
  4. Configure push permissions: everyone, Slack admins only, or specific Productboard roles.
  5. Invite the Productboard Slack app into the channels you want to push from.
