Bring your team's Slack conversations into product work

Search Slack messages, files, and canvases from Spark. Send messages and create channels through natural language.

Overview

The Slack MCP connector lets Spark search and act in your Slack workspace through conversation. Pull relevant threads, files, and canvases into product work as context, or have Spark send messages and post updates for you. Each user connects their own Slack account.

To push Slack messages into Productboard as customer feedback, see the Slack integration.

Search across your workspace

Ask Spark to find messages, files, and canvases across public or all channels, filtered by date, author, or content type. It can also read message history and threads and retrieve file contents, so a discussion your team had weeks ago can inform the spec you're writing now.

Message and act in Slack

Have Spark send messages to channels or DMs, schedule them, reply in threads, and add emoji reactions. It can also create channels, group DMs, and drafts, and look up channels and users by name.

Work with Slack canvases

Create and edit Slack canvas documents with markdown formatting from a Spark conversation, or have Spark read an existing canvas. Turn a Spark discussion into a canvas your team can pick up in Slack.

Setup

Any Spark user can connect Slack. Connectors are set up per user, and no admin setup is required in Productboard.

  1. From any Spark chat, click Integrations → Add connectors.
  2. Find Slack in the list and click Connect.
  3. Complete the sign-in on Slack's page and authorize access. You'll return to Productboard with the connection active in every Spark chat.
