Greater Productivity, Faster Execution: Productboard’s New Collaborative Capabilities

Greater Productivity, Faster Execution: Productboard’s New Collaborative Capabilities

Building successful products and bringing them to market requires the entire business to come together. In fact, successful collaboration improves innovation by 30%, but most businesses aren’t achieving it because of the breakdown in communication, coordination, and context-sharing across departments.

But, today’s distributed work environment doesn’t make it easy to collaborate across the business. Instead we’re in endless meetings, inundated with information and updates that live in too many disconnected tools, and are stuck discussing work about work. The result? Communication and coordination breaks down, productivity takes a hit, and the risk of failure grows. And with today’s pressure to operate on tighter budgets and resources while still needing to meet high expectations, it’s even more imperative to fix collaboration challenges and adapt our ways of working.

To get back on track, collaboration needs to look entirely different. It starts with bridging silos, improving visibility, helping team members focus better, and empowering every stakeholder to make informed decisions with clear roadmaps, transparent processes, and the product information most relevant to them.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve reimagined how product teams and the rest of the business collaborate within Productboard to help organizations be more productive, aligned, and execute faster. By redesigning our main navigation and adding flexibility to how information is organized, shared, and consumed, countless teams and their stakeholders can elevate individual productivity, collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders, and do their best work.

Unlock productivity by personalizing your workspace

Now you can supercharge your productivity by personalizing Productboard to put your most important product information front and center, with immediate access from the main navigation.

With more control over how you organize information relevant to you, it’s easier to filter out noise and improve your focus within a shared workspace. For streamlined access to your most frequently used boards, bookmark them as favorites, and stay organized by keeping all relevant roadmaps, insights, and feature data together in folders, always accessible from the main navigation. Instantly retrieve any board with quick find, no matter where you happen to be in Productboard.

Productboard now also lets you create and manage your own set of personal boards, which can be used for brainstorming drafts before sharing with others. These boards help keep your own ideas in one place without creating clutter across the shared workspace.

teamspaces

“My goal is always to remove any restrictions or frictions that come with working in large teams, working in large orgs, with regulation. Everything we can do to streamline a process with Productboard, to help people understand where they should be spending time, effort, energy — that’s key for me as a director to help us achieve absolute focus on the customer’s problem.”

-Alister Sneddon, Head of Product, CMC Markets

Collaborate better across multiple teams

Many benefits come from working out of a shared workspace, including visibility into every product team’s work and sharing of feature ideas and user insights. But as more teams work from this shared workspace, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the volume of information or distracted by data related to another team’s work.

No matter the team size or structure, every team across the business can reap the benefits of greater visibility, knowledge sharing, and alignment from collaborating in Productboard by curating how roadmaps, customer feedback, and other relevant product information are organized into teamspaces for departments, teams, or focus areas. These dedicated sections within the shared workspace help everyone to focus on what’s important to them, without getting bogged down by other teams’ work. Join a teamspace to begin collaborating with other team members, then leave the teamspace when you no longer need it. Organizations with multiple or matrixed engineering, product, and design teams will find this right balance of focus and transparency to help see who is working on what and to keep work moving forward.

And since teamspaces are essentially organized collections of product information, it’s easier to onboard new team members or bring new collaborators into an initiative by inviting them to a teamspace. The faster new employees and collaborators get up to speed, the faster organizations can bring products to market.

“Information overload is never a good thing, so being able to focus better by having a dedicated teamspace for each of our teams at GSoft to set up and use their favorite parts of Productboard — the portal, the roadmaps, the customer insights — that makes it much easier for everyone across the organization to move faster on the right things.”

-Guillaume Roy, VP of Product, GSoft

Make product information more accessible to stakeholders

Not every stakeholder needs – or wants – the same level of detail to stay updated on product plans and progress or have the context needed for their work. Now, engaging stakeholders with the product information they need has never been easier. Curate teamspaces containing customer feedback, feature data, and interactive product roadmaps into teamspaces for specific stakeholders’ needs. This makes it far easier to get product collaborators up to speed by showing them just the information relevant to them, eliminating any unnecessary confusion caused by being overwhelmed with irrelevant information.

And with more organized, consumable product information, every stakeholder can self-serve the information they need, saving you time from providing manual updates or running status meetings.

teamspaces

“Now, we’re seeing our product directors get even more involved in Productboard because they can use bespoke teamspaces to see what their product managers are planning and working on. This saves time on additional meetings that would be centered on strategic alignment.”

-Juan Sanchez, Product Operations Manager, Brainly
