People Operations Specialist

Location: San Francisco Bay Area / Remote Eastern Time zone preferred

About the Role

We’re looking for a strong People Operations Specialist to join our People team at Productboard. This role is foundational to how we support our employees and leaders across Europe and North America.
You’ll play a hands-on role across the full employee lifecycle for a workforce of roughly 300 people. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys operational ownership, loves getting the details right, and cares deeply about creating a positive employee experience at scale.

What You’ll Own

  • Onboarding and offboarding: Manage the full employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth, thoughtful entry and exit experiences.
  • Performance management: Support two annual performance cycles, including extensive Excel and Google Sheets preparation.
  • People data management: Maintain accurate employee records while safeguarding sensitive and confidential information.
  • Compliance and legal operations: Keep SOPs current and ensure HR processes align with labor laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Training and development support: Partner with HRBPs to coordinate training programs, track attendance, and support career growth initiatives.
  • Health and safety: Help promote employee well-being by supporting safety policies, reporting processes, and a healthy work environment.  This includes vendor management, benefits administration, management of LOAs, support with Maternity leave, Paternity leave processes, etc.
  • HR technology: Help manage and continuously improve our HRIS (HiBob), partnering closely with our HR Analyst on reporting and automation.
  • Payroll and benefits administration: Respond to employee questions related to compensation, payroll, and benefits administration.

What You’ll Do

  • Support multiple HR Business Partners and collaborate closely with recruiting, finance, immigration, and payroll.
  • Own and support the end-to-end employee experience, from onboarding through offboarding.
  • Partner with our HR Analyst where needed, and function as a backup to deliver reporting and insights using HRIS data and existing dashboards.
  • Respond to employee questions related to onboarding, benefits, payroll, immigration, mobility, maternity, paternity, or general LOAs, and general HR processes.
  • Help create and run people programs that support engagement, recognition, and productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and help implement change thoughtfully and clearly across the organization.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Operations or People Operations role, ideally within a fast-growing software company.
  • Experience supporting a global operation, which may require you to work early mornings in support of European operations if you are based in San Francisco. Or working late evenings, if you are based in the Czech Republic, supporting North America operations.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve, and details matter.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leaders.
  • Solid project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, ideally HiBob, and strong skills in Excel, Google Sheets, and the Google Workspace.
  • Comfort presenting to groups, particularly when supporting new-hire onboarding.
  • Ability to work in-office at our San Francisco or New York office.

Who Thrives in This Role

You’re someone who enjoys doing many things well, every day. You bring patience, curiosity, and care to your work, and you take pride in being a steady, reliable presence for employees and leaders alike. You’re energized by operational ownership and motivated by making work better for others.
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area and New York area is $104,000 - $133,000. In addition to the base pay, this role is eligible for competitive equity awards and benefits.
Productboard's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
