We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager who wants to be at the center of this transformation, not watching it happen from the outside. You will lead our Product Growth engineering team — a group focused on helping new users discover value fast, stay engaged, and expand their usage of Productboard. Your work will drive measurable business outcomes across activation, retention, and monetization, while enabling the team to move quickly and deliver high-quality user experiences.

AI is how we build
This is not a tagline. It is our daily operating model across Engineering, Product, and Design. PMs and designers don't just spec features here. They prototype with AI tools and ship to production alongside engineers.
AI is embedded across the full lifecycle: technical discoveries, spec writing, design exploration, implementation, test generation, code review, CI/CD, and incident resolution. Human judgment stays in control. People own product intent and quality decisions, with strong review practices and guardrails that keep shipping safe.
What we are building underneath:
Agent native architecture standards: clear API contracts, semantic naming, and well-defined module boundaries that keep AI effective as systems grow
A context infrastructure layer with repo versioned guidance that AI tools automatically load, improving the output of Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex simultaneously
AI agent workflows for on-call and incident resolution: triage alerts, pull logs, surface relevant history, and suggest remediation
Systematic optimization of AI code review to catch correctness, security, and maintainability issues earlier
What you will do
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
Hire, mentor, and grow engineers at different levels.
Build a safe, collaborative, and high-ownership culture.
Guide career development and support engineers in doing their best work.
Drive Product-Led Growth Outcomes
Partner with Product, Design, and Product Analyst to set strategy across activation, onboarding, monetization, retention, and expansion.
Ensure the team delivers measurable improvements through experimentation.
Champion strong measurement practices, instrumentation, and data-driven learning.
Enable Fast, High-Quality Delivery
Create engineering processes that support rapid iteration while maintaining reliability.
Improve experimentation velocity through tooling, automation, and reusable frameworks.
Balance short-term wins with long-term technical sustainability.
Own Technical Direction
Provide technical leadership and support engineers in architectural decisions.
Ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with our platform vision.
Help the team make sharp technical tradeoffs so they can iterate quickly without compromising reliability.
Guide AI-Driven Growth Initiatives
Support engineers in integrating AI capabilities into onboarding and guidance.
Collaborate with internal AI teams and leverage company-wide AI frameworks.
What You’ll Do Day to Day
Run effective rituals that keep the team aligned and unblocked.
Partner closely with PMs and Designers on experiment planning and user flows.
Support the team in quickly scoping experiments, shipping MVPs, and iterating.
Act as a technical leader for the team — participating in design reviews, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring technical quality in an environment that optimizes for fast experimentation.
Collaborate with senior engineers to define engineering strategy, improve system reliability, and unblock complex technical challenges.
Monitor team health, delivery quality, and engineering efficiency.
Act as a knowledge multiplier, sharing what you learn across and beyond your team to raise the bar for everyone
About you
Experience leading software engineering teams (typically 4+ years).
Strong technical background in modern web technologies and system design.
Ability to review design documents, assess tradeoffs, and guide the team toward sound technical decisions.
A track record of delivering user-facing product work in a SaaS environment.
Experience working in a cross-functional, product-led environment.
Comfort with experimentation, A/B testing, and metrics like activation or retention.
Ability to make technical decisions and guide engineers without micromanaging.
Strong communication skills and ability to set clarity in ambiguous spaces.
Embrace AI as a daily tool in your own workflow. You use AI coding assistants, iterate on prompts, and constantly look for ways to move faster

We offer a one-time relocation bonus ranging from $6,000 to $13,000 USD, depending on your personal situation, whether you’re moving on your own or with a partner or family.
