What is Productboard?

Productboard is the AI-powered product management platform that helps product teams turn customer signals into clear priorities, align stakeholders around what's being built, and move from strategy to delivery - faster. Every plan includes Spark, our AI built for PMs, which brings context-aware intelligence to your entire workflow: from analyzing customer feedback to drafting product specs and planning roadmaps.

What's the difference between a maker and contributor?

Makers are the product managers and leads who own the product strategy — they create roadmaps, prioritize features, and manage insights. Pricing is based on the number of makers in your workspace.

Contributors are colleagues who submit feedback, tag insights, and collaborate via documents and comments — great for engineers, designers, or customer success teams. They don't count toward your maker limit.

Which plan is right for my team?

Free is our no cost plan and ideal if you're a solo PM or small team getting started.

Plus suits customer-signal-driven prioritization for AI-powered product makers, connecting customer feedback directly to development ready specifications.

Business is designed for teams that move together with AI, sharing context, roadmaps and signal for improved results.

Is there a free trial?

Yes - our Business plan comes with a free 14-day trial with unlimited AI credits so you can explore the full platform before committing.

No credit card is required to get started.

Can I switch plans or add makers later?

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or add makers at any time. If you upgrade mid-cycle, costs and credits are pro-rated for the remainder of your billing period.

What is a credit, and how many do I get?

Credits power all of Spark's AI capabilities — from analyzing customer feedback and identifying trends to generating documents and competitive analyses. Different tasks use different amounts depending on their complexity: analyzing 100 customer feedback items uses around 30-50 credits, while creating a comprehensive specification might use 50-200, for example.

Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation: 50 total on Free (allocated across all makers in a single workspace), 250 per maker on Essentials, 500 per maker on Pro, and 1,500 base credits plus 800 per additional maker on Enterprise.

What happens when I run out of credits?

You keep full access to your workspace, documents, and feedback - nothing gets locked or deleted. You just won't be able to use Spark's AI features until your credits reset at your next monthly renewal, or until you purchase a top-up. You'll see notifications in Productboard as you approach your limit.

Can I buy more credits?

Yes. Top-ups are available directly from your workspace: 50-credit bundles for $5 on monthly plans, or 600-credit bundles for $60/year on annual plans. You can buy as many as you need, and purchases mid-cycle are pro-rated.

Can I add Spark to my existing Productboard workspace?

Spark is currently available as standard for all new Free, Plus, Business and Enterprise Productboard workspaces.

What data does Spark use, and how is it protected?

Spark works with documents, customer feedback, and associated data you provide in your workspace. Your data stays within your workspace and is never used to train external AI models. Spark follows Productboard's standard security and privacy practices - see our AI Terms for full details.
