Ground Spark's product work in context from your Google Drive docs

Pick Docs, Sheets, Slides, and PDFs from a built-in file picker in any Spark chat.

Overview

The Google Drive integration brings the documents your team already keeps in Drive into Spark conversations. Attach specs, research, and reference material as context and Spark uses them to inform its responses and the content it generates.

Pick files without leaving the chat

A built-in Google Drive file picker lets you search your Drive, choose from recently viewed files, and select one or more documents from any Spark prompt. Supported file types are Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, plus PDFs, Markdown, CSV, and plain text. Pasting a Drive link into the chat isn't supported yet.

Always the latest version

Spark fetches the current version of each attached document when it generates a response. Edits your team makes in Drive show up in Spark's output without re-attaching anything.

You control what Spark sees

The integration respects your existing Google Drive permissions, so Spark can only reach files your account can access. Attachments apply per conversation — you choose the documents each chat draws on, and nothing is copied into Productboard. Spark reads document text only, and comments and images are left out.

Setup

Any Spark user can connect Google Drive. No setup is needed in Productboard settings, though a Google Workspace admin may need to approve third-party app access for Productboard Spark in the Google Admin console before users can connect.

  1. From any Spark chat, select the Integrations & Connectors icon beneath the prompt input field.
  2. Under Integrations, select Google Drive → Connect and sign in with your Google account.
  3. In a new or existing chat, use the @ Context picker to select Google Drive and open the file picker. From there, find and attach the documents you want to make available to the active Spark chat.
