Overview

The Productboard extension for Chrome submits customer insights to your insights boards from any webpage or web application. It's built for customer-facing teams like support, sales, and customer success, who come across feedback while working in web-based tools. Everything captured arrives as a piece of feedback, ready for processing on an insights board.

Highlight text to capture it

Select text on any webpage and click the extension icon. The highlighted text is submitted within a new piece of feedback, and the source URL is recorded automatically.

Write feedback freeform

Open the extension without selecting anything to write or paste feedback yourself. This covers insights that come from a conversation or an offline source.

Tag the customer and see their history

Tag each piece of feedback to a specific customer. Once the customer is identified, the extension shows which features they've already requested.

Link features and add tags

Associate feedback with an existing Productboard feature at capture time. When both a customer and a feature are specified, Productboard automatically creates an insight linking the two. You can also add tags from the extension to begin organizing feedback before it reaches an insights board.

Setup

Anyone can install the extension from the Chrome Web Store. To submit feedback, you need a contributor, editor, or admin role in Productboard.

1. Install the Productboard extension from the Chrome Web Store.
2. Log in to your Productboard workspace.
3. Highlight text on any webpage and click the extension icon, or click the icon without a selection to write or paste feedback.

Limitations: The extension doesn't work on blank Chrome tabs and doesn't capture highlighted text from Google Docs or Google Slides.
