Check on your product from wherever you're already working

Overview

Claude connects to Productboard over the open MCP standard, giving your everyday assistant direct access to the specs, feedback, and status your team tracks in Productboard. Ask what a spec says, what feedback has come in on a feature, or what's blocking a release, and send updates back in the same conversation. Because the connection carries over to Claude's mobile app, you can check on your product or leave a comment from your phone.

Ask about the current state of your product

Ask Claude to pull the spec for a feature, summarize recent feedback on an initiative, or check where a release stands. The answer comes from the current state of your Productboard workspace.

Create and update product data from chat

Create features, initiatives, releases, and feedback, and edit specs, documents, and comments, all without opening Productboard. Update the fields you use for prioritization, such as value, risk, impact, confidence, and effort, or add a feature to an initiative and move it into a release.

Take it with you on mobile

Once a workspace member connects Claude to Productboard, the same connection works from Claude's mobile app. Ask a question or leave an update between meetings, without waiting to get back to a laptop.

Setup

A Productboard workspace admin first enables the MCP Server under Settings → Integrations → MCP server and chooses which roles may connect. Each member then adds Productboard as a connector in their own Claude account:

1. In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Connectors.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the Connectors list and select Add custom connector.
3. Enter the server URL, https://mcp.productboard.com, and give the connector a name, such as "Productboard."
4. Click Add. Claude opens a Productboard sign-in window — log in and approve the requested permissions. There are no API keys to manage.
5. Start a new conversation, open the tools/connectors menu, and confirm the connector is turned on before using it.
6. Ask Claude to use the Productboard MCP to add some feedback, create a new feature idea, or list the initiatives you own that are currently in-progress.

The connection carries over to Claude's mobile app automatically, so a connector added on desktop is ready to use on your phone without repeating setup.

On Team and Enterprise Claude plans, an Organization Owner must enable connectors workspace-wide under Organization Settings → Connectors before individual members can add one.

The connection acts as the member who authorized it. Claude sees the same product data that member can see in Productboard, and every action respects their workspace role.
